Project Description

Chosen as the basis of design, ClimateMaster geothermal water source heat pumps were provided for this LEED project. Sheldon ISD was awarded over $72,000 from CenterPoint Energy’s SCORE program for energy efficiency.

With the geothermal system, the school will use 50 percent less energy than a same-size campus with a traditional air conditioning system. The 97,091 square-foot facility is one of the first schools in the Greater Houston area to incorporate geothermal energy and is the most energy-efficient building in Sheldon ISD.
